Being related to Sam McCracken, Janette Graves, and Rebecca Kerr by blood, and being related to Leslie White through my marriage, it hurts to hear the truth - but I full well believe it to be the truth. I saw glimpses of their sternness / meanness, but for the most part they were probably on their best behavior when around family.

Sam would have been a good auto mechanic. I think that his brother felt compelled to take over their father's business after Sam went in the work. I don't think it was his passion, but he did well at it. How many lives were not lived to their fullest? I also have to wonder what family pressure there was for Sam to become a worker. I believe Janette went into the work first.

Thank you, Jared, for speaking truth. As others have said, "things were never what we thought them to be".

Another great episode. There’s no black and white, people are often both good and bad- that’s what makes it so complicated.

Super complicated and like an abusive parent. Sam always loved my kids I think because they were your nephews. His eye lit up around them. He was always kind to me - the only thing he didn’t like was me helping clean the meeting shed at convention using the blower 🤣 ( he made a comment- it wasn’t mean but I knew he thought I wasn’t strong enough or capable and should be cleaning the kitchen or something ) Later, I think I thought of him kind of as your protector. I remember him asking for you and saying your name in his last days. It felt very sincere, like calling for his son. And I remember feeling pride that Sam was asking for my brother. The regret that I feel is not being your real protector.

Jared, thank you for your openness and honesty!

After all you have been through, I sure hope that you find comfort and healing by being able to share this openly as you said.

So many of us are thankful for your standing for truth and what is right.

I can absolutely understand your anger and disgust for what you were exposed to. I would feel absolutely the same way.

I can also remember the wonderful influence you were on the friends while you were in the work.

My aunt Ida always spoke so kindly of you.

You have made and are making a difference!

Love you, Denny

I can't express how meaningful these episodes have been. I feel like so many of us have been hungry for some honest picture of what the ministry actually is. There have been so many accounts now that have hinted at a whole reality that we (as "laypeople") aren't shown and didn't know. If feels like we've been tricked and shown something that is really-- behind the scenes--something else entirely. So think you for sharing your reality and your experiences.
