Hitting Pause

If you’ve followed my Substack for any length of time, you’ve probably noticed I have something that either strongly resembles ADHD or is ADHD. I say I’m going to post about things and then never do. I come up with ideas that get buried by a thousand other ideas. And then there’s the stuff that does get posted.

Still, I think some of it has been pretty good.

I have spent most of my adult life spreading myself too thin and it’s a hard thing to unlearn. I did manage to get off of Facebook and stay off for several months, but I can’t report any magical life-changing results yet. Just some occasional FOMO so far. By the way, I’m still not sure how I ended up with my wife. She is nothing but kind, patient, and supportive and in exchange she gets a front row seat to Jared3.estupid0. The existence of my wife - and black gospel choirs - are the strongest arguments for God that I am currently aware of.

But anyway, after this morning’s Tarot card reading, I decided to pause my Substack for the next while - likely until September. This will enable me to focus more on finishing the non-religious spiritual direction training I’m in and getting certified (it will probably feel strange to possess a credential), then on getting a business set up. After that I hope to return, with or without a vengeance, depending on how it all goes.

So, that is the heads up I’m wanting to deliver.

I’ll add a paid-only section to address my noble and generous paid subscribers, letting them know that I love them dearly and think they are cooler than my other subscribers. The rest of you just get this.
